Momentum reference

Shared reading rules — index notation, the L/S/N codes, crossings and Reverse — are on Signal passports. Main backtest settings and the card schema are on Settings and card schema. The behaviour contract is Rules for AI assistants.

Knowledge package 0.6.1, checked 22 September 2026, build 03613bfa. Use the shared role, Reverse and timing rules. Momentum is the difference between the current close and close p bars earlier. It is a price difference, not percentage return. p is an integer period, default 10; the reviewed constructor does not establish a complete permitted numeric range. Do not invent one from another oscillator.

Entry — momentum.entry

M1<0 and M0>=0 gives L; M1>0 and M0<=0 gives S; otherwise N. This is a zero crossing with current equality included.

Filter — momentum.filter

BZL: M0>0 gives IS; M0<0 gives IL; zero gives N. Equality is therefore different from the entry endpoint.

BGD: M0>M1 gives IS; M0<M1 gives IL; equality gives AA; otherwise N. This checks change in Momentum, not its sign. Positive Momentum can still be declining.

Exit — momentum.exit

Use the zero crossing and shared cba rules. ED/EDOP responds to the opposite directional result after Reverse; AVG responds to the own-side result.

Definition coverage and observed controls

The controls below identify this dated schema. Their exact labels, value types and context overrides are in the catalogue. Any omitted standard selector must not be added manually.

  • momentum.entry — MAIN / MOMENTUM. Semantics: Entry — momentum.entry. Fields: ss, Is, ct, at, rs, p. timeframe: ID-specific list; default 1m; candles: DEFAULT/HEIKEN_ASHI; default DEFAULT; calculation: CL/CR; default CL; Reverse: available; default false.

  • momentum.exit — CLOSE_BY / MOMENTUM. Semantics: Exit — momentum.exit. Fields: ss, Is, ct, at, rs, cba, p. timeframe: ID-specific list; default 1m; candles: DEFAULT/HEIKEN_ASHI; default DEFAULT; calculation: CL/CR; default CL; Reverse: available; default false.

Read common settings and card schema first. The following blocks are complete family excerpts, not standalone replacement files. Apply only the selected context overrides and check availability. Use the complete downloaded files for the validator.
