# Bybit robot: connecting your own account

If you already have a Bybit account, you can connect it to the ITradingBot trading robot. For the main account, the connection is through confirmation on the Bybit side.

### Before you connect

Log in to ITradingBot and complete the Telegram link. If you haven't already, start with the article "Register and enter". — [Registration and entry](/en/account/registration-sign-in-and-account-recovery.md)

Prepare access to the Bybit account you're working with. If the exchange asks for additional confirmation of entry or access, please do so on Bybit.

This instruction applies to your own account and to your typical trading robot Bybit. If you already have an exchange account in ITradingBot, read about how to connect first. — [about the ways to connect](/en/account/exchange-accounts/choosing-a-connection-method.md)

### The FREE terms and conditions for Bybit

For the FREE version of Bybit, one of two conditions is sufficient:

* Your Bybit account is registered via the ITradingBot referral link. — [Referral link to ITradingBot](https://partner.bybit.com/b/ITRADINGBOT)
* **Or** when you create an API key on Bybit, you've chosen the ITradingBot application.

When you manually create a key, open the section Management API → Create a new key on Bybit. Select **API keys created by the system**, then Connect to Third-Party Applications (Connect to Third-Party Applications) and enter ITradingBot in the list of applications.

The access level limits and possibilities are summarized in the [Free, PRO and VIP](/en/account/free-pro-and-vip-terms-and-payment.md) articles.

### Connect the main account

1. In the **Account** section, find **The Bybit API** card and click Create in the trading robot row. You can open the Bybit robot creation page right away. — [The page for creating the Bybit robot](https://app.itradingbot.net/bybit-robot-create)
2. Read the terms on the page and agree to them.
3. Click Create a Robot, and then select Basic.
4. On the Bybit page that opened, sign in to the correct account. Check for which app and what permissions you confirm, then complete the connection.
5. Once you're back in ITradingBot, open the robot settings and check the connection.

In this scenario, you don't need to manually transfer API Key and API Secret from Bybit to the dashboard.

### Check the result

The Bybit robot settings page in the API block shows the robot, part of the API key, and its status. — [The settings of Bybit](https://app.itradingbot.net/bybit-robot-settings) Check that the key appears on the list.

If the robot has been created before, use its settings. You don't need to recreate it to view the account you're connected to.

Then check the settings and prepare trading tasks. The Start button controls the robot's start; you don't need to press it just to check that the API key appears in the list.

### If you need to add a sub-account key manually

The manual input is available in the settings of an existing robot that doesn't yet have a key connected. This will require the API Key and API Secret of your Bybit sub-account.

1. Open the settings of the Bybit robot. — [The settings of Bybit](https://app.itradingbot.net/bybit-robot-settings)
2. In the API block, click Add API.
3. Select Sub account.
4. Enter the prepared values in the **API Key** and **Api Secret** fields, then click Add.
5. Wait for the list to update and make sure the key is connected to the correct robot.

Create a key on the side of the exchange according to the instructions for creating the Bybit key API. — [Creating a Bybit Key API](/en/bybit-robot/creating-bybit-api-keys.md) It describes the choice of ITradingBot application, permissions and secrecy. Do not include withdrawal authorization.

If the key is already connected, the add button may not be available. Do not remove the working key just to re-read the instructions.

### If the connection is not complete

If Bybit page does not open, go back to the robot's creation and read the error message. After successful confirmation on Bybit, first check the settings of the existing robot.

If the manual key is rejected, make sure that the API Key and API Secret are linked to the same account and are copied without any additional characters. Focus on the specific text of the error.

If the reason is unclear, contact ITradingBot support. — [support for ITradingBot](https://t.me/ITradingBot_Support) Tell me what step you took and if you connected through Bybit or entered the key manually. Apply the error text or screenshot by hiding API Key, API Secret and personal data.
