# Classic hedge: setup and management

The classic hedge robot accompanies an already open basic position. When the drawdown is done, it adds the opposite volume, sets the stop for the parts of the hedge and checks the condition of the paired closure. It does not create an original business idea and does not rule out the risk of losses.

### Open the desired mode

Open the Hedge Bybit Robot or Hedge Binance Robot panel. — [Hedge Robot Bybit](https://app.itradingbot.net/hedge-robot-bybit) — [Hedge The Binance Robot](https://app.itradingbot.net/hedge-robot-binance) Check your account and select **The classic** tab.

For the long, the main position is the long, and the hedge is the opposite shorthand. The shorts are the opposite. The two directions are set separately.

### Set up the settings

1. Open up the task creation form. Define its domain: the **Global settings** included apply to assets without a task of their own. For individual rules, turn off this item and select the asset.
2. Fill in the long and short position settings: minimum volume, hedge levels, stops, safe zones and percentage of pair closure.
3. Check the switch to remove the taek-profit from the base position. When the robot is activated, it cancels the closing orders of the main position during the hedge operation, and after the hedge is zeroed, it tries to restore the profit at the saved prices. It affects the orders already placed: check them before they are turned on.
4. Click Create a task and make sure the settings appear in the table. Filling out a form without successfully saving it doesn't create a task.

The task of the selected asset replaces the global one for the relevant direction. For example, your own asset settings take precedence over the general line. Don't think of a common and individual task as two layers that add up.

Starting numbers in the form are not a ready-made strategy. New levels can be zero: positive values and order of levels must be set before they are saved.

### Run the accompanying

Before launch, check the open positions, the account you selected, the settings and the blacklist. The robot can start to follow up on the appropriate positions that are already open. If both sides of an asset exist at the same time, don't think of them as two independent tasks: when the robot first chooses, it takes into account the opposite position and compares the sides.

In the API keypad, click the classic robot to start. Wait for confirmation of active status. During the switch, the panel displays the boot and blocks the repeat command. A successful team dispatch still doesn't confirm that the escort has begun.

The appearance of an active task doesn't mean that the counter trade is already open. For this, the conditions of drawdown, volume and safe zones must be met, and the exchange must accept and execute the order.

### Track tasks and change settings

In the tables, compare the saved settings with the active support. The task menu has the ability to change, copy and delete. The copy opens first in the form: check the asset and both directions before saving.

The server rejects the active task settings. Removing the settings line is not a command to close a stock position. Changes to saved settings should also not be considered a separate command to complete the current hedge.

In the notifications, select the events you want to do: open and close the hedge, set stop, install and remove the safe zone, close the hedge. Keep your choices. The notices help to monitor the work, and the status of positions and orders is checked on the dashboard and on the exchange.

### Distinguish between stopping and excluding the asset

Stop the robot, click Stop and wait for confirmation of inactive status. The robot stops escorting; open positions and already placed stops remain on the exchange. When it is restarted, it restores the backup to its current position and saved state.

The activation switch of a particular asset in a table changes its presence in **The blacklist.** If an asset is deleted while the classic robot is working, the asset's escort is completed, and for the related stop orders of the hedge parts, the cancellation is sent. The main and opposite positions do not automatically close.

So after you've deleted the asset, check the remaining positions and orders. If you remove an asset from the blacklist while the robot is working, the open position can be back under escort.

### How does a steam closure work?

When the pair's calculated result reaches a given percentage, the robot sends market orders to close the main and the opposite positions. Execution can take place at different prices; one order accepted does not confirm the closure of both parties. Check the final positions and the history of the execution.
