# Connecting a hedge robot

The hedge robot works with the main and the opposite positions according to the given rules. First, connect your exchange account, then check the settings for the mode you've chosen and run it. Just because the key is connected doesn't mean the robot is working yet.

### Select an account and an exchange

For your own account, open the Hedge Bybit Robot or Hedge Binance Robot page. — [Hedge Robot Bybit](https://app.itradingbot.net/create-hedge-robot-bybit) — [Hedge The Binance Robot](https://app.itradingbot.net/create-hedge-robot-binance) Read the terms on the page and sign consent. The Create a Robot button will be available.

If the exchange's own hedge robot is already in place, the page will open its dashboard. Connecting a hedge robot and connecting a regular trading robot are separate procedures.

For Exchange Account Bybit, first select the desired account from the dashboard, then open the hedge robot. The platform manages its connection to the exchange: it is not necessary to create and replace the key through the form of your own account. Before you set up, check the account you have selected.

### Connect Bybit

1. Click Create a robot. In the account selection window, select Basic.
2. Go to the Bybit authorization. Check which accounts are open on the exchange and check the permits you requested before confirming.
3. When you get back to ITradingBot, wait for the robot's hedge panel to open. If you've made a mistake, read it first: successful confirmation on the exchange and successful creation of a robot different stages.

Sub point is opening the account form. If you already have a compatible Bybit key, enter it into **API Key** and **Api Secret**, then click Add. Empty fields are not sent by the form; the key is checked after the form is sent. A conventional random key cannot be considered compatible just because it's built on Bybit.

### Connect to Binance

1. Click Create a robot, then connect through Binance.
2. Check your account and permission on the Binance side, confirm your connection and go back to ITradingBot.
3. Wait for the robot's hedge panel or the refusal message.

To manually connect your own account, select Basic, fill in **API Key** and **Api Secret**, and click Add. Do not transfer keys between exchanges and do not send the secret to a correspondence or screenshot.

### Check the connection result

Check the exchange, the account, the key and the status of the robot. If a second hedging mode is available, it has a separate status: the operation of one mode does not confirm the launch of another.

Check the open positions and settings of both directions before launch. The classic mode can start to accompany positions that were already open by the time they were launched. Hedging adds orders and countervolumes; it doesn't exclude losses and liquidation.

### If you need to replace the key

First, stop all robot modes using this key, and wait for the stop status to be confirmed. Then run the replacement through the relevant exchange authorization and check the result after you return to the panel.

The replacement may be partially complete: the new key has already been released, but not all the attachments are updated. In this case, go to the message panel and replace it again; do not manually remove the old key until the result is confirmed. If the panel says the new key is connected and the old key is not removed, contact support.

In the classic mode, the robot's stop does not close its position by itself. The status of open positions and remaining orders must be checked separately at the exchange or at the trading terminal.
