# Parabolic SAR

Parabolic SAR calculates the line on the maximum and minimum bars. In ISignal, the signal is determined by a change in SAR position relative to the closing price. The card is available for entry and exit.

### Set the calculation

Add Parabolic SAR to the block you need. The instrument is out of the question. Select **The TF** and Candle Type, and then enter:

* Acceleration Acceleration coefficient of SAR calculation; permissible from 0.01 to 2.
* **Maximum** maximum value of acceleration coefficient; allowable from 0.1 to 2.
* Swing to the right Swing to the SAR values in bars. At zero, current values are used; a positive shift compares earlier SAR values to current closing prices.

By default, the acceleration is 0.02, the maximum is 0.2, and the shift is 0. It's the values of the new card, not the recommendation. A shift changes the condition being checked, not just the appearance of the line.

Select **Calculation** in the Bar Closing or Intersection (secondly). The second mode checks the bar that is forming, so its signal may differ from the check after closing.

### How the signal is generated

When the Reverse is turned off, the rules are as follows:

* Long signal: SAR used to be at the closing price level or above, but now it's down sharply.
* Shortcut: SAR was lower than the closing price, but now it's at or above its level.

Keeping SARs on the same side of the price isn't a new sign of change. The reverse switch changes the direction of the signals in places.

### Apply to the entry or exit

The signal in the entry block must match the direction of the task. In the exit block without a reverse, the switch to the short signal serves as a condition for closing the long, and to the long as a condition for closing the short.

Select the action in the **When the signal is received** field. For a mode with deviation in mind, its configuration and robot type are important; profitable execution is not guaranteed. The SAR filter has a separate card.

Keep the card and check the task settings according to ISignal. — [The ISignal instructions](/en/signals-and-strategy-conditions/isignal-entry-filters-and-exit.md) The indicator signal still needs to pass the rest of the task checks, and the order must be executed on the exchange.
