# Order grid calculator

The calculator scans through the settings of a Binance or Bybit futures grid and finds options within a given width. This is a calculation of the current price and the terms of the instrument. The history check is done separately in [The Backtester](/en/tools/calculations-and-verification/backtester-first-calculation.md).

### Select the exchange and the asset

Open the **Tools → Calculator of the grid**. Select Exchange, Active, direction long or short and **Leverage**. Wait for the price and terms of the instrument to be loaded. The list contains supported fixed-term contracts in USDT.

The Exchange's Terms block shows the price step, volume limits and available leverage for the selected asset. If the data is not loaded, the result of the calculation cannot be considered as a check on the order readiness for placement.

### Enter the calculated amount

**The balance of the wallet** is the amount in USDT that you indicate for the model. These fields do not count your available balance sheet and do not reserve funds on the exchange.

The **First order** is set in USDT as the order value. The calculator translates it into the amount of assets. The form requires a value of at least 5 USDT, but this is a limitation on the calculator itself: the actual minimum of the chosen pair may differ, and rounding the quantity may reduce the order value.

Hedge reserve, % adds to the model the reserve in the opposite position. He doesn't automatically open that position. The net amount together with the calculated reserve shall not exceed the specified balance.

### Determine width and exit

The width of the net, % distance from the first to the last safety orders. The error must not be negative or exceed the width; for the long, the width is limited to 100%.

Take-profit is a percentage of the distance from the average price of a position to the exit level. A positive value is required for the calculation. What's different about this level from the price of the last safety orders, the calculator will show in the results.

### Specify the range of the switch

For each parameter, set a minimum and a maximum. The minimum should not exceed the maximum.

* **Number of safety orders** number of additional orders after the first. For the working range, use integers from 1.
* safety orders step the initial distance between levels in percentage of the price of the first order.
* The dynamic step of the safety orders is a multiplier that changes the distance for subsequent levels.
* Martingale is the product of the number of assets in the next safety orders relative to the previous one.

Step, dynamic step and marting gauge are incremented by 0.01, ordered one by one. The wide ranges increase the number of combinations and load on the browser. The initial values of the form are an example of a fill-in, not a recommended strategy.

### Run the calculation and compare the options

Click Count. The calculation is done in the browser; trading orders are not sent. The result window shows the number of combinations and how many options were selected.

First, the calculator throws out the options with the calculation errors and the wrong width. Then leaves up to 10 options with the shortest distance from the last safety orders to the taek-profit. It's a selection criterion, not a future profit estimate.

If you don't have options, check the sum, leverage, width, error and range. The absence of a result refers to the given search terms, not to all possible grids.

### Read details and restrictions

The result line shows the parameters of the grid, the amount involved, the width and distance to the taek-profit and the accounting liquidation. Click Open to see the first and the safety orders: prices, amount of assets, value and average price.

The detailed grid is recalculated at the available current price, so the value can change when reopened. The model assumes full execution of orders and does not reproduce a queue, partial execution or funding.

The liquidation assessment uses a simplified cross-margin model and the introduced balance. It does not take into account all the actual account terms and conditions and the requirements of the margin support. The commission is fixed, not taken from your rate. Distance to liquidation and absence of identified errors do not guarantee the safety or adoption of the exchange grid.

### Save the desired option

The **Selected** icon saves the settings in the Selected section of your profile. Repeatedly pressing removes the save; the working tasks and the order are not changed by this.

There is a total limit of 1000 profile entries for saving. When it is done, the new save from the calculator deletes the oldest record without the selected one; if there is no such record, the oldest one is deleted. The selected one stores the parameters, not the unchanged picture of future market prices.

### Move the settings and check the form

In the **Export** column, you can open the Backtester or shape of the robot with the selected parameters. The transition itself doesn't start a backtest, a task or a trade.

In the backlist, check the asset, period, balance sheet, commission and entry and exit conditions. The calculator doesn't add indicators, and the values of commissions when transferred are different from its own calculation. To compare the results, first align these settings. — [The grid optimizer](/en/tools/calculations-and-verification/order-grid-optimizer-in-the-backtester.md)

In the robot form, select the right account and check all the parameters. When you move to Binance, you have to choose a pair again. The signal conditions are not being filled, so check the entry and exit rules separately. The creation and launch are described for [Binance](/en/binance-robot/binance-first-task-and-launch.md) and [Bybit](/en/bybit-robot/bybit-first-task-and-launch.md). The calculation of the net does not in itself confirm the suitability of the parameters for real trade.
