# Bybit Spot: buying, selling, and orders

In the spot terminal, you buy and sell coins on your selected Exchange Account. Market and limit orders, their modification and cancellation, and the history of execution are available here.

### Open the right account

Log in to the ITradingBot, check your login confirmation and open the Trade → Bybit Spot. Select Exchange Account from the accounts menu. The list includes the active Bybit accounts belonging to your profile.

If you don't have a suitable account yet, start by [Creating an Exchange Account](/en/account/exchange-accounts/exchange-account-creation-and-setup.md). You need a currency to buy, you need a currency to pay, you need a coin to sell. Balances and amounts borrowed can be found in the Asset tab. Transfers and deposits are performed in the account section. — [depositing funds](/en/account/funds/depositing-funds.md)

This instruction applies to the ordinary spot trade. Margin trading and borrowing for new spot orders are not available at this time.

### Choose a pair and a side.

Select a trading pair, then buy or sell in the New Order block. Check the currency symbols next to the fields: The amount is in the coin you are buying or selling, **The price** and the value in the currency of payment.

For example, for the BTC/USDT pair, the amount is shown in BTC, and the price and value in USDT. Selling BTC on the spot spends the existing BTC; it does not open a futures short position.

### Type and size of order

Set the price and the quantity. The form calculates the associated value. The order may remain active until it is executed or canceled.

Markets, please specify the price or quantity. The field you enter the value in determines the order size unit. The second quantity is shown as a current price estimate; the result depends on execution. By default, the market purchase is set to the cost, the sale to the quantity.

The minimum size, the maximum and the maximum step depend on the pair and the account data. Focus on the designations and messages on the form. If the maximum is not loaded, that doesn't mean zero balance. The percentage slider requires data to calculate the size.

### Send the order and check the execution

Click Buy or Sell. In the confirmation window, check the account, pair, side and size, then click Send. When you're enabled to trade with one click, the usual confirmation window is passed: check the fields before you click the button.

The order received does not yet mean the purchase or sale is completed. In **The active orders** tab, see status, number of orders executed and balance. The exchange may be partially executed or rejected.

### Change or cancel the active order

For a regular active limit order, you can change the price and quantity. The change form is entered as the **total number, including the number of executions**. The new number must be more than the already filled. Price change is also available by dragging the order line on the chart.

To withdraw a separate order, use the Cancel Order. If it is already partially executed, the remaining part is revoked; the executed part is retained. If the order is executed in full, the modification or cancellation will not restore it to an active state.

### Check the area of the cancellation

Canceling all spot orders affects the usual spot orders of the selected account across all pairs, including pairs that are not currently on the screen. The table filter doesn't narrow that area.

The terms and conditions of other markets are not affected by this team. The confirmation window is also displayed when the trade is enabled with one click. Check the account name before you confirm.

### If the result of the operation is unknown

After a network error, the transaction could have reached the exchange. Click Check Status, then compare active warrants and history. Do not re-send the same order until you have determined the outcome of the previous one.

The button I checked on the exchange removes the local lock after your check. It doesn't cancel the sent operation: a repeat send can create a second order.

### Calculate the cost without sending

The calculator icon in the New Order block opens a separate panel. Please indicate the price and the amount it will show their work in the currency of payment. This calculation does not include a warrant or commission. Futuristic operations are described separately in the article [Order in the futures terminal.](/en/trading-terminal/orders-in-the-futures-terminal.md)
