# Futures terminal calculator

The calculator helps to calculate the result at a given price, the average price after additional orders and the price for the specified ROI. The calculation is done in the browser and does not send trade orders.

### Open the calculator

In the Binance or Bybit futures terminal, select a pair and click the calculator icon in the New Order block. — [The futures terminal](/en/trading-terminal/trading-terminal-overview.md) PnL, Average and **Target price** tabs are available. Binance also has a price of liquidity.

Some fields can be filled out from a selected position or current market data. Check the direction, values and units before you do the calculations. After changing the pair or direction, the field can be filled again. You can specify your own values for the scenario; you don't need to open a real position for that.

### Count the PnL and ROI

Select a long or short, enter leverage, entry price, exit price and volume, and then click Calculate. The volume is set in the base asset of the pair, the price in the quotation currency; the designations are shown next to the fields.

PnL is the result of a change in price for the specified volume. For the long, the price increase is positive, for the short, the decrease is negative. **The initial margin** is calculated as the value of the position at the entry divided by the leverage.

At the same price and volume of leverage replacement, it changes margin and ROI, but not PnL. The Commission shall not include fees, funding or the difference between the actual performance price and the actual performance price.

### Find the average price

On the Average tab, enter the price of the Base Order and the **Current volume**. Click Add order and fill in the price and volume of each additional line, then click Count.

The result is the average price weighted by volume. The calculation assumes that all additional orders are executed at the prices set. It doesn't simulate a line or a partial execution. The Clean button removes the additional rows of the calculator; it does not cancel the exchange orders.

### Calculate the price for the given ROI

On the **Target price** tab, select the direction, type the leverage, the entry price and the ROI, then click Calculate. ROI is expressed as a percentage of the initial margin calculated, not as a percentage of the market price change.

The price is the answer to the question of what the conditions would be without fees and funding. It doesn't forecast the market or create an exit order. The order form is used for placement. — [form of the order](/en/trading-terminal/orders-in-the-futures-terminal.md)

### Assessment of liquidation in Binance

The price tab uses the position parameters, the balance of the wallet and the loaded requirements of the supporting margin. The Support margin / pnl switch allows you to include available data from other positions in the valuation.

The form has a choice of cross and isolated margin, but this assessment cannot be relied upon as a validated calculation for isolated margin. If the account data or margin requirements are incomplete, the result may also be incomplete or absent. Compare the actual liquidation price in the given stock market positions; a calculator's zero does not mean there is no liquidation risk.

### What does the result mean?

The calculator compares the input scenarios. It does not check whether the funds are sufficient for the actual order, does not reserve the balance or guarantee execution at the calculated price. The actions available with the real position are described in the article Positions in a futures terminal. — [Positions in the futures terminal](/en/trading-terminal/positions-in-the-futures-terminal.md)

Bybit Spot has another simple calculator: price times quantity. It doesn't have any PnL, ROI, liquidation futures.
